Sierra Sandison 3D Printing

MEET SIERRA

Sierra’s curiosity and love for DIY runs deep—and she’s as talented and driven as they come. From checking out every craft book in the Twin Falls Public Library to covering the family kitchen table in her latest project, she’s always been wired to turn ideas into reality. Santa fueled the mission with annual Home Depot gift cards, and Sierra’s determination did the rest—leading her to pursue engineering as the ultimate way to expand her creative toolbox.

While earning her degree in Mechanical Engineering (plus minors in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Biomedical Engineering), Sierra worked for Caleb Chung, the inventor of the Furby, designing and fabricating animatronic toy prototypes. She graduated at the top of her class as one of Boise State’s Top Ten Scholars, collected certifications in Mechanical Design and Mechatronics, and went on to run her own 3D printing company and launch a toy line of her own.

Today, Sierra combines her love of art and engineering as part of the Trademark Creative team, designing and building iconic projects that help shape the Boise community she calls home.

OUTSIDE THE STUDIO

Sierra’s path is anything but ordinary—she was crowned Miss Idaho 2014, wore her insulin pump on the Miss America stage, published her memoir Sugar Linings at 21, and cycled from New York to San Francisco with a team of fellow type 1 diabetics. She’s also been Buster Bronco (yes, that Buster Bronco), runs an army of pink 3D printers from her living room, and is on a quest to ride a century in all 50 states.
